Keeping it fresh.
I had to chuckle to myself when I noticed that it's been a year since my last (and only) blog post. Well, here's another try at starting a regular blogging routine. Apparently Spring time gets me in that mode of wanting to start new things. That is, after all, the spirit of Spring!
This year's Spring is bringing some refreshing changes. One thing I'm excited about is moving my shop off Etsy and onto my own website! I'm feeling pretty good about that. I appreciate Etsy and I'll be leaving my shop open for my print on demand goods but I prefer if people don't have to leave my website for shopping.
Another thing I've decided to do is launch a patreon profile. I've heard so many good things about it that I think it's time for me to give it a try. I think it will be a great way for people to be able to support me and feel more a part of the Mysterious Others story and vision.
I've also been applying for different art shows and festivals. It will be nice to expand outside of the Portland Saturday Market and meet new crowds. I even applied for my first artist grant this year too! One specifically for artists who are parents. It would be amazing to receive a large sum of money to be able to help grow my art career.
I decided to start up a newletter as well. It will include information about upcoming shows and fairs, contests and exciting news about finished pieces. It will likely be sent out once a month. You can sign up for it on my homepage.
I hope this Spring is bringing you fresh starts and sprouting seeds of ideas coming into manifestation! I'd love to hear about it in the comments! <3
Winter's dream-filled slumber is starting to fade away. Trees are budding, flowers are waking and I'm feeling a renewed sense of inspiration. I have big plans for the Mysterious Others and part of it entails my online presence and activity. After years of hiding behind the mask of "Colibri", I'm now ready to be a bit more interactive and connected with the people who resonate with my work. These magical creatures, the Mysterious Others, have coaxed me out of hiding and insist that I accompany them on their adventure of meeting and greeting our world. I couldn't say no to those creepy adorable faces. I hope that you will join us in this ever-unfolding journey.
